Mesmo que não se saiba o que aconteceu, muito do passado ainda está espalhado por aí as chamadas Relíquias, como prédios em ruínas, ou mesmo alguns eletrônicos antigos, por exemplo um velho ventilador. Você é novo na cidade, com a missão de reviver a velha oficina de seu pai, construindo bugigangas para criação de itens, ou mesmo para o conforto das pessoas ao seu redor. É fácil a associação com os jogos Harvest Moon Back to Nature Multi, ou mesmo Stardew Valley Multi, já que aqui também chegamos a uma cidade, construída boa parte da narrativa com as nossas interações com NPCs e interesses, até tendo alguns arcos narrativos bem interessantes, ou ao menos divertidos, como é o caso dos cobradores farsantes. O diferencial, em Portia, é que algumas missões nos dão opções sobre o que fazer ou falar lembrando jogos da série Fallout, por exemplo. Além de cuidar da nossa oficina, temos que realizar algumas tarefas principais, que são sempre bem interessantes. As secundárias, por sua vez, são funcionais, mas não passam daquele velho escopo de leva e traz de itens, mesmo que algumas sejam bem engraçadas, apelando pelo ridículo. Uma senhora que vive na fazenda da cidade tinha me pedido para achar a cesta que havia perdido, eu a achei no teto da escola. Esse é apenas um exemplo, o jogo conseguiu me tirar vários sorrisos com seus personagens e situações. A interação com os personagens também depende do jogador, mesmo que não seja possível escolher o que dizer, como é em The Sims Multi, podemos dar presentes e realizar algumas outras atividades juntos. Se falarmos com os NPCs todos os dias, o nosso nível de relacionamento aumenta, e com alguns deles é possível até casar - infelizmente, essa tarefa é bem difícil, principalmente nas primeiras horas do game. Mecanicamente diverso No começo, My Time At Portia mostra várias de suas mecânicas para o jogador criação de personagem, que é bem simples, mas traz uma variedade interessante; exploração do mundo aberto; escolhas de diálogos; interações diferentes com NPCs, como lhes dar presentes; o sistema de craft na mesa de trabalho, que serve para criar alguns itens, como cosméticos, ou picaretas e machados. Também temos como desenvolver máquinas mais complexas, como fornalhas, serras, ou mesmo um veículo. Há muito que se fazer logo nos primeiros minutos do game, e isso, de cara, pode ser um problema. Sem muita habilidade com as mecânicas de criação, por exemplo, levei muito tempo para finalmente conseguir construir uma ponte, que é uma das primeiras tarefas que o prefeito nos passa. Inicialmente, tinha que descobrir onde estavam os minerais necessários, depois ir colocá-los, logo em seguida prepará-los na fornalha e, só então, inserir as peças na estrutura, que teria que estar selecionada. Cansativo e difícil para os primeiros instantes com o game, mas depois de superado, as coisas ficam mais fáceis e mais claras para o jogador. Isso tudo apenas falando apenas do seu complexo sistema de criação. Temos que dominar ainda outras coisas, como a pescaria, desafios de dungeons, o sistema de luta, enquanto tentamos evoluir seus atributos, como vida, e o principal, a estamina - já que é com ela que vamos conseguir cortar árvores, bater em pedras, atacar, entre outras coisas. Melhorar nossa oficina e aumentar nosso terreno também é outra tarefa importante, com isso, podemos adicionar mais máquinas produzindo matérias primas, ou mesmo plantar mais sementes para cultivo. O sistema de RPG também está presente aqui. Cada equipamento que carregamos, espadas, luvas, roupas, ou acessórios, traz um atributo ao personagem desde força, defesa, até outros efeitos, como aumentar o número de HP. Seu personagem também avança de nível ganhando experiência, para isso basta cortar árvores, coletar pedras, matar monstros, entre outras coisas. Muitas das coisas que fazemos no jogo não exigem números altos, mas, mesmo assim, é importante tentar evoluir para desbloquear algumas vantagens, como aumentar o quanto você pode correr, o quanto você pode usar o machado, entre outras coisas. Simples, mas funcional Diferente das suas mecânicas diversas e complexas, seu visual é cartunesco e simples, mas não é por isso que é menos charmoso. Felizmente, seu mundo aberto possui muitos detalhes legais de se observar, como os diferentes tipos de árvores, suas cavernas, postos de mineração, NPCs, e até ciclo de dia e noite com variação no clima. Porém algumas coisas são estranhas, como não haver nenhum tipo de animação para quando se pisa na água, ou mesmo a física travada dos carros. Esses tipos de problemas só chamam atenção momentaneamente, apesar de chatos. Para a parte do som, o estúdio usou uma trilha diferente para cada ambiente em que o jogador está, mas, por um longo período, ele ficará fazendo alguma coisa na sua oficina, e a música que compõe o mundo aberto fica se repetindo muitas e muitas vezes, deixando as coisas maçantes. A falta de voz nos diálogos, ou mesmo alguns bugs de atraso do som, também não ajudam na imersão. E então? My Time At Portia tinha muito para dar errado, como suas mecânicas não funcionarem em conjunto, ou mesmo parecer algo inflado e cansativo de jogar. Felizmente, isso não aconteceu e, nas muitas horas que o joguei, senti um nível de progressão muito divertido, depois de superado o seu início desbalanceado. Então, se tiver paciência, essa será uma ótima aventura para curtir e, sobretudo, dominar.
